About the event
Experience the wonder of the night sky during Alabama Impact Crater Discovery Week at this special Stargazing Night hosted by the Wetumpka Impact Crater Commission in partnership with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
Set within one of Alabama’s most fascinating geological landmarks, this family-friendly evening connects the story of the Wetumpka Impact Crater to the wider universe. Astronomy educators will have telescopes set up for public viewing, offering close-up looks at the Moon, visible planets, and other celestial objects. Along the way, guests will learn how meteor impacts shape planets and why looking up helps us better understand the history of our own world.
Whether you're a seasoned skywatcher or just curious about what’s overhead, this is a relaxed and welcoming way to explore space science right here on Earth.
